United Way of Orange County volunteers recently participated in the “Walk in Their Shoes” Poverty Simulation at Lamar Institute of Technology, helping Entergy employees gain a firsthand perspective on the challenges families facing poverty may encounter. Volunteers staffed resource tables and guided participants through simulated barriers related to housing, food, childcare, utilities and employment. The experience highlighted the importance of empathy, awareness and understanding as we work together to strengthen our community.
